Results are estimates in Canadian dollars and are not a mortgage quote, approval or financial advice. The calculator uses Canadian nominal interest compounded semi-annually and estimates standard mortgage-default insurance where applicable. Actual insurer, lender and eligibility rules may differ. It does not include legal fees, title insurance, moving costs, adjustments, special assessments, maintenance inside the unit or every closing cost. Confirm financing with a licensed Canadian mortgage professional.

What this estimate includes

How is the Canadian mortgage payment calculated?+

The payment uses the Canadian convention of a nominal annual interest rate compounded semi-annually, converted to a monthly rate over the selected amortization.

Does the estimate include mortgage-default insurance?+

An estimated standard premium is added when the down payment is below 20% and the entered price and down payment appear eligible. Your lender and insurer determine the actual premium and eligibility.

Does this tell me how much I can qualify for?+

No. Lenders also examine income, credit, other debts, the property, debt-service ratios and current qualification rules. The stress-test payment shown is only an illustration.
